Any of you guys ever hear of Marathon Man? Old Mac game. Bunjies fist game they ever did. Use to have a blast playing that back in college. Six guys on a Apple talk network. Was awsume. Were were using up so much networt bandwidth people couldn't use the printer. Was out the same time Doom was. Alas, everyone played Doom, nobody had a mac.
In case you don't know, Bunjie is the same company that did Halo.. Halo is a lot like Marathon Man. Similar wepons and same look and feal. You could however use 2 pistols at the same time in Marthon and through punches with your fist.
We use to punch people to death just to piss em off some times.
ok.. enough of the history lesson. Note to self, don't mention Specter to show them how old you really are.......

Ya...i just got Halo today...no Xbox, have played it at a friends house, and it reminds me of PS...change the color fo the suit to purple and its a VS reinforced exo suit. And instead of hundreds of ppl..its hundreds of aliens.

i got the halo pc beta a couple weeks ago, exactly same as x-box, but the difference is you can see the details in the models - which means brutes and elites are actually hella scary with their huge teethed mandibles and whatnot
anyway, the reason marathon man and halo are so similar is taht halo is a continuation of the story from marathon man - you may remember the mark iv armor from marathon: occasionally you'll hear a fellow marine in halo say "hey look! a mark V!." the pillar of autumn's markings are also UEA (united earth alliance), as are those on the pillar's crew. same enemies, the covenant. if you go back and learn the Marathon story you might understand some details about Halo taht you wouldnt otherwise
as for tribes, those screenies are beautiful. one step closer to a new video card for me. i dont know much about tribes, but from what i see in PS, a group of SoV would be unusually formidable in that setting. i'd do it

After playing and finishing halo for the PC I can say this.
First off Flattfoot I remember those days. Second for the most part the creatires remind me of the same creatures from Unreal 1(Talk about a long ass game to finish that was a long game). The radar reminds me of the radar from Aliens that the maries have.
The little guys (beats me what there offical name is) are diffrent but for the most part ,the are just a bother while the bigger guys remind me of how the guys from Unreal played.
THe graphics are good and the game play feel is good. Story line is ok, but come on do we have to get glow in the dark people who want to take over the world.

I have it for X-Box but might get it for PC because of online play. I wanna know though, what's new from the X-Box version. I see the fuel rod cannon (the thing the Hunters have) on the back of the box. Can you get the banshee in multiplayer?

I loved both Tribes, and will probably check out Vengence if it ever comes out. For those of you who have never played Tribes, my first impression of PS was a Tribes MMORPG. Tribes was definitely the pioneer in online team combat, and alot of the gameplay I see in PS is directly from Tribes. My favorite aspect of Tribes, that I wish was reproduced better in PS, was the jumpjets. If VS could have jumpjets like in Tribes, we'd be unstoppable.
Hopefully the new Tribes will be MMORPG.

Ugh, Halo... I was at a LAN party from Saturday to Sunday, and the majority of the people were playing Halo. By the way, I hated Halo on XBox, and I think I hate it on PC just as much. Not sure why, but I just don't find it to be any fun. Anyway, after being utterly bored with Halo for a few hours, a group of friends and I slowly turned people over to games like UT/2003, HL/CS, JA, SC, and the Quakes. Bwahaha.
Oh, and I slept (read: just slept :P) with my friend Thona (http://www.angelfire.com/emo/lily0/Thona8.jpg) on a couch for like an hour. That was interesting.
Anyway, that new Tribes looks cool. I'm sort of looking forward to some game justifiably being referred to as being "like Planetside done right".

I like the real game in Halo but the Multi-player lacks some thing. Personaly i like the Quakes for LAN because of the great Mods that they have for the game.
Any one ever play the Desert Combat mod for Battle Field 1942? Its the best and the only reason i like it :D

Yeah, Muff, that was another game we were pushing. I'm not a big Battlefield 1942 fan, but Desert Combat is cool :).
