Recently Rahl & I have been quietly working to create a Alternate to the Planetside Forums for dedicated players to work on teamwork between outfits in each faction, and the develop strategies.

It is also an Unedited place for people to speak there mind and get together about things in this game so we can present them to Sony in a clear and consice way with hopefully the numbers to back it up for Sony to sit up and listen... This is my and Rahl vision and we hope you guys will help....

Nice, I like the idea and I like the implementation thus far. Looks like you guys have set up a good number of forums for all sorts of things. I really like the possibility of having an idiot-free area to talk seriously about PS gameplay and issues. Those Sony forums make my head hurt.

How exclusive is this going to be, if at all? I would assume that certain forums will be restricted, like to CR5 only, outfit leaders only, etc. Also, I'm not too sure that forums for NC or TR would be anything more than clutter. The few smart ones will realize that the site is run by a few VS guys ("hey, there's that guy I'm always killing while he walks into things!!" and "hey, there's that guy who always runs me down in a mag!!"), and might hesitate to use it to discuss strategies, or anything they deem "secret". Maybe you have a general discussion area, and a private area only for verified Vanu. At that point it starts to become exclusive and might scare some people away, but it would be a great place to plan some real serious shit.

I registered, and can help you guys out with anything you need. I'm pretty good with Photoshop if you want graphics or something. Or if you guys get big enough to the point you want moderators or something, I'm always looking for non-work things to do while at work.

The TR and NC areas are going to hopefully be Moderated by TR and NC and if I can help it they will have complete control over who can see whats in that forum. Those areas will be exclusively for TR NC and Vanu characters only and you can only belong to one. Thanks for the offer for help, we will probably take you up on it.

The new site looks great. Hopefully it can be another push in the direction of inter-outfit-collaboration. Also - and this may sound inadmissible, but hear me out - I hope we can also meet some intelligent TR and NC leaders. I have always had the notion that an alliance between two empires would be very cool, unless the TR and NC allied against us. You can't expect a faction to kill their own (except the SoV), but imagine a group of VS working with the NC to clear the TR off of a continent. It wouldn't have to be a permanent alliance; one empire is bound to start slaughtering the other, then the retaliation is called, and we are back to where we started. Much more thought would have to be put into that whole idea before it is ever implemented, but it is possible and such organization gives our side (VS/NC or VS/TR) a respectable advantage.

Anyway, I'm eager to join the site, however it sounded like it was for CR5's only. Are we lowly, noob-ish, non-CR5's welcome to join? :)

Everyone is welcome Rahl's post to the CR 5's was more of a hopeful inticement then anything. We want everyone to join the board and have a voice, well except maybe godjoey =)

I know if I spent time on it I could eventually come up with something, the honest truth is I am not artistic by nature. DOing art for me is a tortured proccess were I try and twist myself into a flowing flitty free spirit (like rev) and it is emotionally scarring for me....

I'm gonna work on this sometime tonight. I like the idea of having the OS graphic in the banner somehow. I also have the idea of getting a group shot of a CR5/BR14+ from each side standing together. Gonna have to dig through my collection of screenshots and hope I find something. How big are we looking for here?

I envision a fairly large graphic, where the background is probably a scene from Amerish, something that looks good. On the left there is an AMS in the trees that is being hit by an OS. Maybe I can time it good enough to catch the entire explosion. On the right are the CR5s, standing shoulder-to-shoulder (no weapons or anything equiped) looking out beyond the AMS. The horizon is mostly orange-colored, like sunset, and "CommandRank5" is at the very top, above the heads of the CR5's, with ".com" after it in much smaller letters. The text would be black, in a "cool" font, probably with some sort of shadow effect or texture.

Well, that's my vision. What do you think? This is more of a front-page welcome graphic than a general-use banner, but it could easily be adapted for banner use. I'm not the most artistic person out there, but I know my way around Photoshop pretty well, and I think this would make for a good picture.

For all I care you could design the whole site theme like that. We need a constant graphic crew. Rahl & I are art challenged. Think of us as on the shortbus in photoshop. We can make it do anything but the energy that people put into it (Read: Spirit & Soul) isn't there for us we are more adapted to things of a techinical nature.
