There will be a patch to the live servers at 3 AM Pacific on August 27, 2003. It will contain the following items:
1. Drivers will gain control of vehicles coming off the creation pad sooner.
2. Air vehicles will move off of the vehicle creation pad quicker.
3. Vehicles will no longer drift when the driver hits Alt-R.
4. The gunner camera on the Vanguard and the Prowler will now shake much less.
5. Spitfire Turrets will now fire in the correct direction to hit their target.
6. The link between a facility that has been hacked and spawned a Lattice Logic Unit and the LLU's destination will now be highlighted on the continental map.
7. Fixed an exploit that allowed players to deconstruct with the LLU in their inventory.
8. Respawning at a facility will no longer drain NTU's from the facility's silo.

This is my favorite:

5. Spitfire Turrets will now fire in the correct direction to hit their target.

I guess that means instead of hitting me :-)

I really like #8. Defenders might actually have a real chance now. Well probably not, but at least it'll make base attacks a longer endeavor. It might make blowing the gen necessary in every cap.

Pretty much Chad. Which is a good thing. Its kinda nice to see think that this change might make it more of a challenge to take bases. Getting a team to the gens and to the tubes and the cc and getting AMS in.....should be a challenge. Its getting easier to defend a base.

In beta ( and I think maybe at release), you couldn't spawn at a hacked base. Man that was easy. Thats when we did a LOT of gal drops....drop on a Tech plant or a Amp Station....hack the cc and the base was yours if you could kill the guys inside before they un-hacked.

Lots harder today....

This change was needed. The commonest tactic in taking a base today is to wear the enemy down by forcing respawns at the base tubes and preventing ANTs from getting in. Thats getting old.

This seems like a really good set of bug fixes. They are killing off some of the more notorious issues. Now, if only they would fix the door bugs, I'd be happy.

If the bases no longer are going to use NTU when you spawn all the CE need to put a repair gun in thier locker withe 1-2 things of fix juice. You never know when this can save your but.

Having a repair gun in my locker has saved us many times. For example, the enemy is spawn camping but we manage to kill them off. They've blown the terms too, so we either attack with suppressors and standard armor, loot corpses and our lockers, or I fix a term and we kick some ass. I love doing that... the "Thanks" voice macro spam is amazing.
