So I am in the process of upgrading my PC just for Planetside2. Is that pathetic or what?? haha. Well i did have the same hardware still in use from 8 years ago so i think i am due. Plus i now have the means to pay for exorbitant hardware expenditures (Thank you Air Force and spec pay).

So as i go thru this process i encourage my friends to make suggestions. I have not put much thought into the new hardware and tech avail nowadays so i am looking at a lot of research to get back up to speed. Plz make suggestions if you feel like it. I will post my progress thus far.

Right now i have a super tower with the asus crosshair IV motherboard, 8 gigs of kingston hyperx ram, water cooled amd phenom 6 core processor, nvidia gtx 8800 vid card (orig from back in the day)

the plan: wait for the new ATI 7000 series to come out and then decide.
;3 monitors spanned
;upgrade water cooling to include chipset and vid card when new card is decided upon
;ssd drives in raid 0. (waiting for local shop to provide 2 top of the line 64 gig drives when avail) right now i got my old raptors in raid 0 running this rig - unfortunately the windows aero score is very low in the sata 1 drives (4.5?)

wada u guys think??

Whoa thats weird... as i wrote the last, windows redid the performance of my system and scored my system with at 6. The only diff is that i pulled my terabyte drive and reinstalled windows 7 running only the 2 raptors in raid 0. Holy cows. The terabyte drive is sata2 but the raptors are only sata1 at (but at 10,000 rpm). Could they be better than sata2 drives?
Looks like the sata2 7200 rpm 1 terabyte drive was pulling the system down!

Cant wait to raid two top notch ssd drives!!
