I visit dslreports.com alot to find out the latest about my digital cable and cable modem. Looks like oregon silver internet has been upgraded to 10mbps.
If your wondering the basic silver is plan is 4mbps and gold is 6mbps (gold is only $10 more) so I cant imagine what gold is going up to now.
Also you might need to upgrade your cable modem. I'm told the Motorola SB4200 dosnt get the 6mbps speeds. Thats the benfit of renting form comcast ... you can switch out for the latest and greatest when ever it comes out. I'm now on an SB5250 at my mothers house but my father is still on an SB4200.

Yeah, my down stream is only 1.5, but I get 768 up and it's a solid 768. I run a server from home so that's important for me.

1.1 Mb/s down. The test didnt do up.
My conn is fast enough for me for downloading but i suffer too much latentcy and too long of "wait states" for gaming. Plus i get 70 ms added to my ping in Washington DC en route to the Emerald server.
My route to the west coast server is the same route to Emerald then it meanders across the central states to the coast giving me the 70 plus ping on top of the 40 plus heartland lag.

Check your traceroute buzz... the authtication server (when you click emerald ingame) is in CA but the actual zones are east.

So they built a wider road from your house to your ISP but the road from the isp to the emerald server is still the same damn road with the same bloody stop/yeild/signs/lights along the way with the same stinking speed limits (speed of light is almost the same as the speed of electrons thru wire).
So no, you won't see a gain playing planetside but you will be able to download porn faster. :D
